Watch sickening fall for female mountain biker at Paris Olympics 2024 as broadcaster refuses to show replay

FRENCH cyclist Loana Lecomte suffered a horrific crash during the women’s mountain bike race this afternoon.

Following a strong start in Elancourt, the 24-year-old fell over her handlebars while navigating a rocky part of the track.

She appeared to hit her head on the floor before briefly losing consciousness.

Lecomte was also knocked by her bike in the sickening accident.

Stewards and medics immediately rushed to her aid while broadcasters cut away from the scene.

No replays of the incident were shown amid concern for the cyclist’s wellbeing.

Lecomte was eventually stretchered away from the track while spectators applauded and chanted her name.

French journalist Nicolas Georgereau later took to social media to give a positive update on her condition.

He wrote: “Loana Lecomte is still on site. She lost consciousness for a moment but she is fine and was taken care of by the medical service.

“No worries at this stage.”

French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prevot went on to win the race, with Team USA‘s Haley Batten taking silver and Jenny Rissveds securing bronze.

The men’s mountain bike race is set to take place on Monday.

The route is 4.4km with 110 metres of elevation.
