Jamestown man charged following chase, head-on crash with police car

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges following a case that ended when he allegedly hit a police car head-on, police said Sunday.

Nicholas Brown, 34, is accused of leading a police on a pursuit for an "extended period of time" after they tried to pull him over for traffic infractions around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Police said Brown almost hit multiple police officers with his car during the chase.

Police said the chase ended after he hit a New York State Trooper vehicle, an unrelated parked car and a Jamestown Police car head-on. He is also accused of fighting with police before he was taken into custody.

He is charged with the following:

  • 3 counts, first-degree reckless endangerment
  • second-degree reckless endangerment
  • third-degree unlawful fleeing from police in a motor vehicle
  • second-degree criminal mischief
  • resisting arrest

He was held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Jail and then moved to Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
