Tottenham Hotspur need to sign a new striker this summer, but one of their top targets for the position has been speaking to the press and claims he is entirely focused on doing well for the club he is currently at despite speculation linking him away.
Gimenez is relaxed on his Feyenoord future
Santiago Gimenez has long been one of the names near the top of Tottenham‘s wishlist for the forward position. However, it seems the player himself is ignoring the rumours and staying focused on the task at hand with Feyenoord.
He told Voetbal Primeur: “There is interest from other clubs, but nothing serious, no offer or anything like that. So, I focus on the here and now.”
That’s not to say Gimenez isn’t open to leaving. He added: “If there is an opportunity which compares to Feyenoord, then I have to look at it. After that, we’ll see. I’m an ambitious person, but I’m still here and I have a contract. I’ll do my best for the club until the last day I’m here.
“The only one who knows whether I am ready for the next step or not is God. He determines my future and whether I am ready for it. I have told Dennis [te Kloese] and Brian [Priske] that they do not have to worry about my focus.”

I’ve said it many times before, but the only thing that makes me doubt the credentials of Gimenez is the fact he is playing in the Netherlands, and it’s hard to know how that form translates to the Premier League.
That’s not to say he couldn’t do it over here, but it is a risk.
