Paulina Porizkova’s Naked Snapshot Shines a Light on This ‘Taboo’ Part of Aging: ‘This is 59’
Paulina Porizkova is shutting down the ageist mindset that enjoying life ends at a certain age. She showed everyone what 59 is, and how it can be fun, sexy, and full of amazing feelings.

She started the caption by saying, “Menopausal women and sex is still a taboo. We’re supposed to pouf! – transmogrify into pillow shaped baking and knitting automatons when we can no longer procreate.”
“But the least sexy I’ve ever felt was when I was a young mother and my body seemed to belong to everyone but myself,” she said. “Second runner up was being with men I thought I loved, who entertained themselves with finding my flaws. Whether it was to keep me off center, or because of their own sexual issues, isn’t important.”
Porizkova then added that sex has gotten better with age, and how she’s learned that with age, comes so much more with sex. She added, “What is important is my rather newly acquired knowledge that sex can get better with age. Instead of a fast meal grabbed standing up because you’re starving, you may now find a twelve course dinner with flavors you have never before tried, and combinations that blow your mind. You may not want it every day, but it’s available!”
“Knowing what to order is a part of being older. As is the willingness to try something new, and not feeling obliged to finish if you don’t like it. And taking your time with pleasure. It’s there for YOU, rather than the other way around,” she said. “And no, you don’t need a steady partner, just a desire to explore.”

In the mystifying photo, we see Porizkova posing nude on a white bed, showing off her unfiltered, untouched body and gorgeous gray hair. She is smiling softly for the camera in a luxe setting, one with gold-lined mirrors and different textures everywhere; looking as dreamy as can be. She looks so confident and content; two things we love to see, and work to achieve ourselves.
We just love that she’s continuing to use her platform to remind everyone that aging isn’t a bad thing; it’s a beautiful thing that can give you more opportunities to feel sexy and be happy. She shows that “this is 59,” and 59 looks quite spectacular.
Now, this is not the first, nor will it be the last, time Porizkova has reminded people that life does get better with age.
“I was suddenly a divorced woman who had no career, had no way of making money, and also was completely ignored by the population at large and I thought that’s not cool because I’m actually a lot cooler now than I was 20 years ago. I am way smarter. I have more patience. I’m more intellectually curious. I’m more generous,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “Everything about me is better. But I have wrinkles and that does not make me ugly. I just thought that’s unfair.”
