Alexis Ohanian Reveals He Has an ‘Addiction’ to This Part of Fatherhood & It’s So Dang Sweet
Get ready to say “awww” because Alexis Ohanian just revealed the part of fatherhood he’s addicted to, and it’s the sweetest girl-dad moment we’ve seen in quite a long time.
Ohanian shared a clip from his podcast Business Dad to his Instagram with the caption reading, “I’m working hard to savor every moment with my Jrs—I know those unsolicited hugs won’t last forever! Shared with @danharris on the latest #BusinessDad those hugs are quite an addiction to me as a Dad ????”
In the podcast clip, we hear Ohanian talk about the part of fatherhood he says he’s addicted to, along with a series of adorable photos of his daughters smiling and traveling with him.
“I am a sucker for the unsolicited hug or the unsolicited, ‘I love you, papa.’ It is pure black tar heroin of addiction. When it comes out of nowhere and it hits you, it is the greatest joy and high ever,” he started, adding, “And then if I get a hug with it or a kiss on the cheek, it has made my month. Maybe that’s why it’s so special because you can’t control it.”
He added, joking, “I’m like the little mouse getting the dopamine hit! The next time this happens, no pressure Olympia, gonna imagine the 80-year-old Alexis being like ‘See that feeling?!’”
Ohanian then ended by saying, “You soak up every damn minute of it you get. Ride that high for as long as you can because at some point, that little girl is going to be living her great life and that’s a moment in time you will never get back.”
It’s no secret that Serena Williams and Ohanian are crazy about their daughters, but admissions like this just show how they’re truly such amazing parents.
For those who don’t know, Williams met Ohanian back in 2015, and the two married in 2017 in New Orleans. Later that same year, Williams gave birth to their daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr (better known as Olympia), born on Sept 2017, and later, another daughter named Adira River, born in Aug 2023.
“The new baby is amazing. I have to say I am obsessed with her. Oh my gosh, she’s so yummy. She’s like the best, I love her,” Williams said via People, revealing that Olympia always wanted a little sister. “That’s one thing Olympia would always say – I want a sister.”
