Mohun Bagan pips Downtown Heroes FC in Durand Opener

Mohun Bagan started their journey of Durand Cup against Downtown Heroes FC in opening match on 27th July 2024. Mohun Bagan’s captain’s armband was given to the Scottish defender Tom Aldered – who became the first Scottish player to don the prestigious Captain’s Armband for Mohun Bagan.

Mohun Bagan missed many opportunities in the first half , and were tested by the opponents from time to time. Aldered , who had Sumit Rathi and Raj Basfore in his two sides led the team well in defense.

Suhail Bhatt scored the only goal of the game at 73rd minute.
