Emerson Royal’s current situation at Tottenham continues to attract plenty of column inches in the media and today has been no different.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has shared his latest understanding of the Brazilian’s potential move to AC Milan.

The Tottenham defender has been heavily linked with a move to the Serie A giants for a number of weeks, however, a move has yet to materialise.

Sky Italia reported earlier this week that both clubs had made some progress over their negotiations for the 25-year-old with their latest offer being £12.7million.

Emerson Royal is on the verge of AC Milan move

In an interesting development, Di Marzio has now revealed that Royal is now just a ‘step away’ and has never been closer to completing the transfer.

Royal has already agreed personal terms with AC Milan, who will play in the Champions League next season after finishing in second place in Serie A.

Milan’s urgency comes after current full-back Alessandro Florenzi picked up a serious kne injury in their pre-season friendly against Manchester City in the USA.

It looks likely that this deal will get wrapped up at some point this week with the Italian side needing reinforcements to improve their options at right-back.

Royal is currently with the rest of the Tottenham first team squad in South Korea as they prepare for Wednesday’s fixture against Team K League.
