Vegas played golf in Austin for the Longhorns from 2004-07. With the win, he collected an enviable sum of just under $1.5 million.

The victory for Vegas was the fourth of his career on the PGA Tour and first since the 2017 Canadian Open. The win moves the Texas Ex into the top 70 in FedEx Cup Standings and into position for the quickly approaching PGA Tour playoffs.

There is no tournament next weekend with Olympic golf underway, but the tour picks back up with the Wyndham Championship from August 8-11 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
