One dead, another injured after shooting, pursuit on west side of Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is dead and another person is hospitalized after a shooting and pursuit on the west side of Columbus Sunday night.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, the shooting happened on the 700 block of South Ogden Avenue at approximately 10:19 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:25 p.m.

According to a Columbus police spokesman at the scene, a car then fled the scene toward Sullivant Avenue, where it was found by a police helicopter, with a suspect running from the car. When officers arrived at the vehicle, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound inside. She was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

No information on what led to the shooting was released.
