Love Island’s Chris Taylor reveals plans to star in Barbie 2 after hiring acting coach

LOVE Island’s Chris Taylor has revealed his plans to star in Barbie 2 after hiring an acting coach.

Chris, 33, landed a surprise, and very brief, role in last year’s hit movie after hitting it off with producer and leading star Margot Robbie.

Lasting less than 30 seconds, the former business development manager was cast as a version of Ken.

He delivered his only line halfway through the blockbuster, saying: “And the Nobel prize for horses goes to Ken!”

And, now, it sounds like he’s got the acting bug and it rearing to get involved with the upcoming sequel.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: “If they’ll have me, I’ll do another line here or there.

“I’ve got an acting coach now and I’m trying to get into more that side of things. So, I do that on the side.

“I think it helps everything that I do really, in terms of presenting and content.

“If there are any more Hollywood opportunities, then I’m so down.

“I’d be there in a flash, I’d be there before they asked me, anticipating their request.”

Just a few months ago, though, Chris shut down any speculation of a sequel appearance while speaking to his pal Toby Aromolaran on the Fancy a Chat? podcast.

When asked if he might be reprising his role, Chris confessed: “Probably not. I don’t know if they’ll have me back. Took me literally five hours to get a single line out properly. I did about 57 takes.”

“I never got it wrong,” he insisted before admitting: “One time, I got it wrong. But that was only because they said that a camera was going to come in front of me and it didn’t.

“And it was a camera that was like six miles away that I was never even gonna see.

“I think Margot Robbie’s husband Tom was just like, ‘Yeah, don’t worry mate. Like, it’s over there. You’re not gonna see it. But anyway, it just took me, it took a lot. It took me like four hours of filming.

“They got me to do it in so many different ways, so many different inclinations, so many different voices. So I had no idea what was going to go into it.

“I’ll be honest, none of them felt right. I’d walked into a studio in Watford. Ryan Gosling‘s there, Margot Robbie’s there, like, all this massive set. There’s loads of extras. There’s so much going on. It was a pure, like, sensory overload.”

Chris previously told us how he ended up doing the film, revealing it was all down to Love Island superfan Margot.

He said: “I don’t know if this is true, but it’s all I can assume. I met Margot Robbie at an afterparty.

“Margot recognised us from Love Island – I was with Jordan and Mac and she came over to us, chatting and talking about Love Island.”

Chris said they got on like a house on fire.

About 18 months later, Chris was asked by Warner Bros to come and audition for Barbie – and initially thought it was a prank.

He continued to think it was a joke even when he was being driven to the studio, but he said: “We get there and Ryan Gosling just walked past my car with bright blonde hair and I was like holy s***, this is actually real.”

We revealed last August how talks had already begun to get the follow-up into production, after Barbie grossed $1bn worldwide.
