MAYA Jama stops Love Island’s Aftersun live on air after Sam Thompson was surprised by famous mate last night.
Sunday evening’s instalment the spin-off saw Towie legend Pete Wicks make a shock appearance.
During the show, Maya spotted a person wearing a mask of Sam’s face in the audience.
The host said: “Hang on, who’s that over there? Hello you!”
The faceless figure then revealed their face – and it was Sam’s best mate Pete.
Sam was left lost for words as he finally realised what was going on.
The Made In Chelsea star said: “Oh my God! What’s going on? I am so confused, I am so confused!”
Pete replied: “I thought I’d surprise you!”
Maya then explained: “It is world friendship day on Tuesday and Pete has secretly flown all the way over to surprise you.”
Pete’s cameo was to celebrate the channel’s latest campaign Britain Get Talking.
The pair met back in 2019 when they both appeared on Celebs Go Dating.
Pete, who starred in Towie between 2015 and 2022, and Sam have been inseparable ever since.
Last night was pretty intense episode ahead of this evening’s final.
Former Towie legend Joey Essex was sent packing from the TV villa alongside his partner Jessy Potts.
Some fans were left convinced that Joey has been “faking” his feelings for Jessy after “gave himself away”
Their former Islanders decided to give them the boot in a brutal twist.

Joey, 33, and Jessy, 25, joined host Maya Jama on Aftersun and spoke about their plans for the future.
Maya asked him: “You guys are now exclusive, are you going to move her in like you said you would..Is it Essex time?”
He looked panicked and quickly shut down the idea saying: “Moving in?! We’re going back to Essex for sure…umm moving in, we ain’t discussed moving in.”
Maya clarified: “No, sorry, I thought you said you were bringing her home, I was just leapfrogging.”
Joey added: “We’re going back to Essex,” with Maya responding: “Nice.”
At the end of the instalment bosses gave a first look at the stunning finale following Joey Essex’s axing.
The clip saw Josh and Mimii, Sean and Matilda, Jess and Ayo, and Ciaran and Nicole all together for one final time.
Either of those couples will be crowned winner of this year’s series.
