Germany intensifies secret negotiations to expel ‘Criminal’ Afghan and Syrian refugees amid security concerns

Germany’s Interior Minister, Nancy Faeser, revealed on Sunday that confidential negotiations are ongoing with various countries to deport “criminal” Afghan and Syrian migrants. She emphasized that the focus is on removing violent Islamist offenders.

In an interview with the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, Faeser stated, “Germany’s interests are my top priority. The Federal Police can support the responsible states in executing these deportations as swiftly as possible.”

Faeser stressed that anyone who does not have the right to stay in Germany should be required to leave the country promptly. This stance highlights Germany’s strict approach to managing immigration and security threats.

The statements come amidst reports that the German Foreign Ministry has conducted a confidential assessment indicating ongoing military operations in various regions of Syria. Critics of the deportations cite United Nations reports stating that conditions for the safe return of refugees are not yet met.

Mario Vogt, a member of the executive committee of Germany’s opposition Social Democratic Party, has argued that the conditions for deportation should not only apply to criminals but also to individuals with no prospects of staying.
