Nanigopal Mahanta becomes 18th Gauhati University VC

Assam's education minister announced the appointment of Prof. Nanigopal Mahanta as the new vice-chancellor of Gauhati University. Mahanta, a seasoned academic with roles in administration and several authored books, is expected to drive significant reforms, focusing on academic excellence, research, and infrastructure. He previously served as an education adviser to the Assam government.
