Ghaziabad: Kanwariyas Vandalise, Overturn ‘Police’ Car After It Brushes Devotee; 2nd Incident In As Many Days | WATCH
Kanwar Yatra Violence: In the second such incident of its kind in as many days, a group of Kanwariyas vandalised and overturned, what was first reported to be a police vehicle, in Ghaziabad, after the car slightly brushed one of the pilgrims.
Visuals of the incident which have gone viral on social media platforms showed a white Mahindra Bolero SUV with a police sticker, being completely smashed and then toppled by Kanwariyas, similar to what they did to a Honda City car two days ago in the same area.

According to reports, the Bolero SUV had mistakenly entered into a lane designated for the Kanwar Yatra and accidentally brushed a Kanwariya, leading to the irate Kanwariyas tearing the car to bits before overturning it near Duhai on the Delhi-Meerut Road in Ghaziabad in the Madhuban Bapudham police station area.
Initially, it was reported that it was a police vehicle, however, the Ghaziabad Police issued a clarification later, stating that it was private car with a police sticker pasted on it.

As per the police, the SUV accidentally brushed a Kanwariya, leading to the enraged pilgrims violently attacking the vehicle and severely damaging it.
2nd incident in two days
Notably, this is the second incident of its kind which took place in Ghaziabad within a span of two days.
On Saturday, July 27, a group of Kanwariyas went on a rampage and vandalised a Honda City car in Ghaziabad after the vehicle brushed a pilgrim and damaged his Kavad (sacred pot used to carry water from the River Ganga).
A video of the incident had gone viral on social media platforms showing a mob of angry Kanwariyas vandalising a white Honda City car with sticks and stones.
The irate pilgrims caused heavy damage to the car, ripping out its windows, smashing its tail lights and glasses with wooden sticks. In the later part of the video, some Kanwariyas then overturned the damaged vehicle and dumped it on the side of the road, the clip showed.
The Kanwariyas also reportedly thrashed the car’s driver who sustained minor injuries in the assault.
