Plenty of attacking power but a sense of weakness at the back.

That’s pretty much the simplest way of describing Manchester City’s pre-season US tour to date, after 4-3 and 3-2 defeats to Celtic and AC Milan, respectively.

It’s been very much a makeshift, largely unknown City back line, with a front four of the impressive Oscar Bobb and James McAtee alongside Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland last time out.

Many of their Copa America and Euro 2024 heroes are yet to return to meaningful training, with Pep Guardiola – facing his former club here – allowing his stars to choose when they returned.

Barcelona are yet to really get going with any big opponents in pre-season, so City should be sharper here.
