Juvenile and 42-year-old woman die in Emporia crash on Saturday

EMPORIA (KSNT) - The Kansas Highway Reports that a 42-year-old woman and a juvenile died in a crash on I-335.

At 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, a 44-year-old, man was driving a 2021 Kia Telluride south on I-335. The driver rear-ended a 2015 International semi-truck. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the Kia Telluride came to rest after spinning out.

According to the crash log, there were 3 juvenile passengers in the Kia. It was reported that a 42-year-old woman named Erin Moreno died along with a 17-year-old juvenile.

The 44-year-old man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The other occupants were listed as wearing seatbelts. The information on the three juvenile passengers was protected.
