Child under 13 gives birth, Lake Charles man charged with her rape
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A Lake Charles man is charged with with repeatedly raping a young girl after the alleged victim gave birth to what is he claims is his child, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a hospital in Lake Charles at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday in reference to a girl, under the age of 13, who had given birth.
Detectives spoke with the victim who stated Jose L. Montoya, 39, of Lake Charles, had sexual intercourse with her numerous times over the past two years, authorities said. Officials said Montoya confirmed the allegations and told detectives the newborn is likely his child.
Montoya was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with two counts of first degree rape. His bond has not yet been set.
