Lady Gaga Is Engaged
Lady Gaga is getting married! After helping to kick off the Paris Olympics on Friday, the singer was spotted mentioning to French prime minister Gabriel Attal that she and her longtime partner, the tech investor Michael Polansky, are engaged.
A TikTok video posted on Saturday shows Gaga greeting Attal at an Olympic swimming event before introducing Polansky as “my fiancé.” It’s unclear when the couple got engaged, but her fans first noticed that she had a large diamond on her ring finger in April. Gaga and Polansky began dating in 2019, and they rang in 2020 with a midnight kiss in Las Vegas, according to ET. A few weeks later, she shared a photo of the duo canoodling in Miami, confirming the relationship. Since then, they have made several high-profile appearances together, including at Joe Biden’s 2021 inauguration and at this year’s Super Bowl. According to his LinkedIn, Polansky graduated from Harvard with a degree in applied mathematics and computer science in 2006. He’s the co-founder of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (the foundation started by Facebook co-founder Sean Parker). Polansky is also a managing partner in the Parker Foundation.
Although Gaga has never been married, she and actor Taylor Kinney got engaged in 2015 but broke up a year later; in 2018, she got engaged to talent agent Christian Carino, but the two split in 2019.
Gaga has rarely spoken about her relationship publicly, but she occasionally posts snippets of her life with Polansky, including the enormous bouquet of flowers he sent her for her 35th birthday. She captioned a photo of the elaborate arrangement “When your bf sends you all the flowers in Rome for your birthday. I love you honey. I can’t wait to be home with you and our dogs, that’s all I need.” In 2021, a source reportedly close to Gaga and Polansky told People that the two already “act like a married couple.” Congrats to the happy couple!
