How Sofía Vergara's Dating Plan With Boyfriend Justin Saliman Backfired on Her
When Sofía Vergara’s marriage to Joe Manganiello ended after eight years, she reportedly had a plan in place when it came to her dating life. She wasn’t going to dive into a new relationship anytime soon because she thought she would have some fun dating and enjoying her single gal life. Well, sometimes the best-laid plans go awry!
The Modern Family star didn’t expect boyfriend Justin Saliman to make such an impact on her life — and so soon after her divorce. “Her intention going into this with Justin was that it was simply going to be a bit of fun to get her over Joe [Manganiello]. It’s turned into way more than that,” an insider divulged to Life & Style. Their romance went from zero to sixty much sooner than she anticipated, and there are even rumors about their future together.
“Sofía is a romantic at heart and still believes in marriage and she’s in love. The way she’s talking they could easily be engaged by the end of this year,” the source added. Vergara and Saliman were first linked together last fall, and she even dropped the L-word on Instagram in April when she was recovering from knee surgery. “If u ever get a major knee surgery make sure u get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night!!!!” she wrote on her Instagram Story of the orthopedic surgeon in his blue scrubs. “Luv u Dr @jdsaliman.”
An Us Weekly source revealed that the dynamic duo had “run in similar circles for years” and he has no issue with her fame. “Her celebrity status isn’t something that intimidates him whatsoever,” they noted. “Sofía is attracted to his sense of humor and his intelligence. Plus, he’s a total gentleman and treats her with nothing but respect. She’s excited to see where things go.”
Well, it sounds like things are headed in a very serious direction and Vergara is reportedly relieved that he already had a family with ex-wife Bree Turner, daughter Stella, and son Dean. Even though Manganiello denies Vergara’s version of events about their divorce, she told El País that the True Blood star wanted to start a family. “I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children,” she explained.
Manganiello has since moved on to Winning Time actress Caitlin O’Connor while Vergara and Saliman are enjoying their own romantic bliss.
