A CLASSIC camper that once featured on an episode of Wheeler Dealers has sold at an auction – and it’s a motor Mike Brewer said he “fell in love with.”

A 1963 Bedford Caravan, finished in a period correct two-tone colour scheme of sky blue and white, was put up for auction via Broad Arrow over the weekend.

The 60-year-old motor was once the star of an episode of the much-loved motoring show – and Mike urged fans to snap it up.

The Bedford was picked up by Mike back in 2021 for just £4,500 and was affectionately nicknamed ‘Colin’.

Restored by Mike and his co-host Marc Priestley, it later sold for a small profit at £11,500.

In a post to Instagram, Mike said: “We absolutely fell in love with it, we put our heart and soul into it.

“I didn’t want to sell it, I sold it to a guy called Martin who absolutely loved it – but now it’s up for sale again.”

The little caravan’s restoration, which likely exceeded the price it was sold for, included a full floor-to-ceiling renovation as well as an engine and gearbox change.

At the time, Mike said: “Elvis [co-host Marc] worked through several nights getting Colin ready for sale to catch the end of summer.

“The results were incredible.”

Mike later added that is was the “most ambitious restoration to date” on Wheeler Dealers.

Now the stylish camper has sold again with an eye-watering estimate of £19,800 to £29,700 – although its final selling price at the auction remains a mystery.

Speaking about it ahead of the auction, Mike said: “You can take it anywhere in the country because it cruises there now.”

He reiterated that he and Marc added “new cabinetry work in the back” as well as a “a new pop top and new paint” – describing it as “like a new vehicle.”

“Enjoy it, take it on holiday,” Mike called out to the new owner.

“Whoever buys it, give me a shout!”

The listing stated that the camper comes with a canopy roof, storage cabinets, two burner stove and a sink.

Mike recently picked out a newly-discontinued hatchback as a future classic – and claimed they’re “definitely going to be sought after in the next three to four years, if not sooner.”

The Wheeler Dealer has also showed car owners how they can protect their motor’s paintwork forever with “amazing” product.
