Love Island star breaks silence on split from ‘calculated’ ex after spotting ‘red flags’
LOVE Island star Ellie Jackson has broken her silence on splitting from her “calculated” ex Trey Norman after spotting “red flags”.
The pair got together after the 22-year-old entered the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell.
Days after they returned to the UK, Ellie revealed they were planning to go on a date.
But then last week The Sun exclusively revealed pictures of Trey on a date with AJ Pritchard’s ex Abbie Quinnen..
Confirming their split, Ellie said: “I knew it wasn’t working. I mean, for one when we came out, the distance just was not ideal.
“I knew that we wouldn’t sort of have enough time to see each other.
“And I think when we did, there just was a couple of red flags in the sense of like all the other couples, that very happily when we were out for dinner or at nightclubs.
“And Trey just kind of wouldn’t sit next to me, or, you know, would be, you know, giving other girls a little bit of attention in the nightclubs as well.
“And I know it with my past relationships. Being cheated on like that just wasn’t something that I kind of wanted to get involved in again.
“And, you know, especially being in public eye, like it can be quite embarrassing having other girls come up to you and tell you that you know, your partner has said X, Y, Z.
“I kind of just knew in the back of my head that, it wasn’t something that I was too keen on.
“I do think that there may be a there may have been a little bit of a vendetta behind the relationship in terms of, I think Trey mentioned he wants to go on All Stars and, kind of like keeping us in the limelight and stuff.
“But for me, I’m such a genuine person.
“I find it hard to fake a relationship and fake liking someone just for the sake of publicity and and stuff like that.
“If I want to find someone, I want it to be because I actually have a good connection with them and we get on.”

We revealed that Trey and Abbie were spotted holding hands after a spot of dinner, and later attended their first red carpet together.
Ellie said: “He just wants to be famous. He doesn’t want to dwindle out of the spotlight.
“He literally wants to be famous and be on All Stars.”
She added: “That’s why he wanted our relationship to kind of carry on because he wanted it to be a bigger thing.
“So it would be more of a scandal when he goes in All stars.
“But I tell you what, I could not put up to that for another couple of months. I would have gone insane.”
Ellie met Abbie last week at the Batiste summer party in London, but could potentially be seeing her tonight at another event, and she has thought about warning her off.
She said: “Yeah, maybe I will have a little chat with her and just be like, listen, be careful.”
Ellie added: “He’s just so calculated, like there’s just a few things that you could just tell he was playing it for the cameras in there a bit, and I’m just not about that that’s that’s so interesting.”
When asked if she thought his date with Abbie is “calculated”, Ellie replied: “Oh, my God. 100 per cent.
“That’s literally him to the T. 100%.
“His agency probably sort that out for him.”
So the star decided to call things off and he has since been out with Abbie.
An insider told us last week: “Trey and Abbie have been texting non stop.
“When he was down in London this week he took Abbie out for their first date.
“They were spotted holding hands and later attended their first red carpet together, a screening of Transformers One.
“It’s early days but there’s a definite spark.”
Northern lad Trey was coupled up with Jess White when Casa Amor arrived, but it didn’t stop him getting to know Welsh stunner Ellie.
The two couldn’t keep their hands off each other during their stint in the villa.
But after recoupling at the Casa Amor ceremony, the pair received the fewest public votes and were dumped from the Island.
