'Duplicate keys may have been made with intent to steal Ratna Bhandar valuables’

The committee supervising the Ratna Bhandar inventory suspected past theft attempts after discovering malfunctioning duplicate keys and unlocked boxes. Original keys had been missing since 2018. The committee cannot recommend a criminal investigation but urged the temple administration to inform the government about their suspicions. Several locks in the inner chamber were found broken or unlocked on July 14.
