Paris Olympics 2024: Rahul Dravid In Attendance During India Vs Argentina Hockey Clash

Former Team India coach Rahul Dravid, seen cheering at the India-Argentina men's hockey match, is excited about cricket's growth potential in the USA and its possible inclusion in the 2028 Olympics.

Paris: Former Team India coach Rahul Dravid was seen among the spectators during the India-Argentina men’s hockey match, as a photo of him surfaced on social media on Monday, July 29th. The ex-Indian captain was also present on Sunday, July 28th, to cheer on the Indian athletes in their quest for medals.

The 51-year-old resigned from position of India’s head coach after his side won the T20 World Cup 2024 in June after defeating South Africa in a nail-biting contest in the final in Barbados. However, the former India skipper is being linked to the coaching job of the Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2025.

With the USA co-hosting the T20 World Cup 2024, Dravid believes the country has tremendous potential for cricket growth and is excited about the sport’s possible inclusion in the 2028 edition.

“We know there is an incredible audience for cricket in the USA. We know that just from the number of people who travel from USA to other World Cup events. There is a huge passion for the game in the USA. Just growing the game and having more people play the game was phenomenal. It always felt like cricket should be a part of this [Olympics]. It is truly a great game.”
