Beaverton man with samurai sword arrested after car break-in

A Beaverton man was arrested after authorities said he broke into a car and threatened a witness with a samurai sword.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Beaverton man was arrested after authorities said he broke into a car and threatened a witness with a samurai sword.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, on June 24, officers responded to a theft report on Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway where a witness reported a man who had broken into their vehicle.

The witness said they confronted the man who then pulled out a sword and threatened them before fleeing the scene.

Deputies responded to the scene along with a K9 unit that tracked the suspect and they were taken into custody after only 10 minutes with the samurai sword found nearby.

Andrew Grayson, 26, was identified as the suspect and on July 19, he was indicted for two counts of first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing.
