Albany man arrested on fentanyl, cocaine charges

The Albany County Sheriff's Office announced that an Albany man was arrested on Monday following a traffic stop near Second Avenue.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Sheriff's Office announced that an Albany man was arrested on Monday following a traffic stop near Second Avenue. Robert Gordon, 42, is facing felony drug charges.

On July 29 around 1:20 p.m., deputies stopped a car in the area of Second Avenue and Moore Street in Albany for reportedly committing a traffic violation. During the stop, Gordon was allegedly found to be in the possession of a combined two ounces of crack cocaine and fentanyl, multiple plastic bags, and a digital scale.

Gordon was then taken into custody. He now faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia

Gordon was taken to the Albany County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Albany City Criminal Court on July 30.
