Robert Downey Jr. is heading back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the two upcoming Avengers movies, but he’ll be playing villain Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man.

The Oscar-winning actor will appear in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

The Russo Brothers are returning to the MCU after previously directing 2014′s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, 2016′s Captain America: Civil War, 2018′s Avengers: Infinity War and 2019′s Avengers: Endgame.

A new report has revealed how much all three men are going to be earning for their work on the upcoming movies.

Variety reports that the Russo Brothers will earn a combined $80 million for their work on the upcoming movies, which means they’ll get about $40 million per film.

Robert is said to be getting “significantly more” than the $80 million the directors are getting, but his exact number is unknown as of this time.

Variety estimates that Robert has earned between $500 million and $600 million for all of his previous Marvel appearances, combined. That includes three Iron Man movies, four Avengers movies, and roles in The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
