Tim Allen to Return to ABC With New Comedy Series 'Shifting Gears'

Tim Allen is opening a new chapter with ABC, the network that housed his breakout hit Home Improvement.

The 71-year-old is headed back to the network, which picked up his new comedy series Shifting Gears. Details about the forthcoming show, including another popular star attached, have been revealed.

According to reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, Tim will share the screen with Kat Dennings, who will play his onscreen daughter.

Shifting Gears will also star Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis.

Here’s a synopsis: Tim will play “awidower and owner of a classic car restoration business whose adult daughter (Dennings) and teenage kids move back in with him.”

There’s no news on a premiere date yet, but we will update you as we learn more.
