Govt advises against all travel to Lebanon

The foreign ministry on Tuesday issued a reminder that it advises against all travel to Lebanon.

The guidance was first issued on October 29 last year, when tensions between Israel and Hezbollah first threatened to boil over, with exchanges of rocket fire over Lebanon’s southern border.

Now, with a strike attributed to Hezbollah having killed 12 over the weekend and the Israeli government threatening to retaliate, the Cypriot government has moved to remind citizens of its position regarding travel to the country.

At the same time, the ministry also issued a reminder of its advice for the avoidance of all non-essential travel to Israel as well as to the West Bank territories of Nablus and Jenin, including East Jerusalem, and its advice for the avoidance of all travel to Gaza.
