Police investigating after two found dead in NE Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Police are investigating a double murder in northeast Oklahoma City on Monday.

“This is just terrible, just terrible,” said Raven Brunner, who lives nearby. “Just a horrible death. It’s ridiculous.”

Officers were called to an apartment complex near NE 36th St. and Lottie Ave. around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday and found the two victims.

"Both people were already deceased inside the apartment,” said MSgt. Gary Knight.

Police cars lined the complex as investigators combed through the scene for hours.

"They're working on identifying the people involved and particularly trying to identify a suspect,” said Knight.

No one has been arrested so far.

Christopher Hammons moved in just five months ago. He told KFOR he quickly became friends with one of the victims.

"He was a nice guy. He would help anybody,” said Hammons.

The victim even helped Hammons get on his feet when he first moved in.

"Bought me some stuff for my bathroom and bought me some sheets and stuff because I didn't have anything,” said Hammons. “Didn’t ask for nothing in return.”

Now, he and his neighbors just want answers.

"Somebody knows something,” said Brunner. “I just hope justice just comes for him, his parents, his brothers and sisters."

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call the Oklahoma City Police Department's homicide tip line at (405) 297-1200.
