ACCRINGTON, UK – Ashley Seed is being promoted from Director of Commercial to Chief Operating Officer (COO) on an interim basis at ground transportation, accommodation and disruption management company, CMAC Group.

With more than twelve years under his belt at CMAC, working his way from Sales Executive to Director of Commercial, Seed is well placed to lead the company’s operations. In his new role, Seed will be responsible for accelerating the development of the CMAC customer experience, building a framework to grow the company’s operations across Europe, and accelerating strategic growth into international markets, working closely with CMAC’s bases in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Greece. He will be reporting into CEO Peter Slater.

Slater says: “Ashley has been a pillar of CMAC for more than a decade. His expertise and understanding of our business and customers make him the ideal person to assume the COO role. We have such a pool of talent within the CMAC family and it’s so rewarding to see our team succeed – a very well-deserved congratulations!”

Seed adds: “I joined CMAC soon after I graduated university and have had the opportunity to explore several different roles within the organisation. In that time, my focus has always been on the customer and ensuring CMAC is delivering a service deserving of the loyalty we see from those using our services.

“Through my role as Interim COO, my personal aim is to make a difference to as many people’s lives as possible, whether that be a customer, supplier or colleague.”

This appointment follows significant growth seen by CMAC since its acquisition by ComfortDelGro in January 2024, with 325,436 UK bookings in the first quarter of this year, up 8% compared to the same period in 2023. Internationally, taxi bookings have seen a 150% increase, hotel reservations an 81% rise and coach trips are up 35%.
