‘Really gross & sad’ homeowner says as they shares state of their housemate’s room & people struggle to find the bed

HAVING a roommate can be fun, but you can also discover what they are really like behind closed doors and see a new side to them.

One woman was left shocked after her housemate constantly left their room looking “gross” and this also spread to the rest of the home too.

She snapped photos inside the room showing it piled high with rubbish, including takeaway cups and pizza boxes.

Meanwhile, she was also surprised that he slept on a bed without sheets.

The woman said she was very tolerant of the behaviour for months, but finally had enough.

She said: “For 7 months. I gave him a welcoming, safe home to work on himself.

“I barely knew him and gave him food, cleaned up after him and his cat, bought him gifts and decorated for his birthday, gave him essentials I noticed he was missing in the bathroom, etc etc etc.

“Do you know what he did in return?? Nothing.

“He trashed my home while refusing to get on the lease and treated me like his free live-in maid.”

She said she had asked him to tidy up after himself, but he had done it “while throwing a fit, slamming doors and blasting music.”

After reaching her limit, she finally decided to take action.

She wrote on Reddit: “Kicked out my roommate!

“Didn’t want to share pics of his room til he was out, and he finally is!

“This was his room. You can imagine how he treated the rest of the house.

“Rlly f***ing gross, and rlly f***ing sad.”

She added: “When you’re living with roommates, there’s no excuse for this, no matter how bad the stuff you’re dealing with is.”

Thankfully the male roommate – who worked in a pizza restaurant – did clean up the room when he moved out.

However, the woman is still “working on getting rid of the stink and carpet stains.”

She added: “I shockingly don’t have pests.”

What to do with a lazy housemate who racks up your bills and doesn't do chores?

THE Sun's agony aunt Dear Deidre gives her advice...

Rather than just dropping your concerns into the conversation, ask if you can have a house meeting.

Explain it would be fair to reapportion the chores, although you still will want to play your part.

Ask your electricity provider for a smart meter so they can see how much the bills go up when they’re home.

My support pack Standing Up For Yourself will make sure they get the message.

People were quick to comment on the messy room and give their views.

Many said they struggled to find the bed under all the rubbish, with one saying: “There’s a bed?”

One said: “This picture smells terrible.”

Another added: “I hope they get the help they desperately need.”

A third commented: “On second thought, maybe my room isn’t as bad as I thought.”

Another wrote: “Ohhhh myyyy gaawddd.”
