Chelsea vs Club America preview
Well it’s not been the best of starts to pre-season for Chelsea and new manager Enzo Maresca.
The Italian, 44, is yet to oversee a victory following a 2-2 draw with League One Wrexham and a disastrous 4-1 defeat to Celtic at the Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.
Chelsea boasted more possession and produced more shots at goal during that encounter, but were picked off far too easily.
Manager Maresca maintained that it’s all “part of the process” for his players, but he has demanded big improvements ahead of their bout with Mexican opponents Club America on Thursday.
But it won’t be easy. The reigning Liga MX champions are already four games into their domestic campaign, while the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Marc Cucurella and Conor Gallagher remain unavailable.
