Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh move up in ICC rankings after Women’s Asia Cup conclusion

India’s Smriti Mandhana moved up to fourth place in the list of batters, while pacer Renuka Singh was ranked fifth among bowlers, in the latest ICC T20I rankings issued on Tuesday.

Mandhana who is India’s vice-captain and opening batter was impressive throughout the Women’s Asia Cup tournament. She scored 173 runs which is third highest for any batter in the tournament and her innings of 60 was crucial to take India to a fighting total in the final against Sri Lanka. Mandhana was ranked fourth in the latest ICC rankings with 743 points.

Among bowlers, Renuka, who took seven wickets in the tournament, was ranked fifth with 722 points as she moved up four places while spinner, Radha Yadav who was Asia Cup’s fifth highest wicket-taker with six scalps, reached 13th after moving up seven places.

The biggest gainer in the whole ranking was none other than Sri Lankan captain, Chamari Athapaththu who moved up three places to be ranked sixth with 705 points following her match-winning 61 in Asia Cup final against India.
