This week will offer another emotional swing in the weather department.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Rain continues across the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday morning. After seeing measurable rain Monday, showers on Tuesday morning will help add a little more to the rain bucket.

Daytime highs will stop just shy of 80 degrees for Portland. That gives the area its fourth day in a row of below-normal temperatures for the end of July. The 30-year normal for Portland is 84 years.

Don't complain about the lack of sunshine because the heat is knock, knock, knocking at the door!

This week will offer another emotional swing in the weather department. Each day gets progressively warmer, in 10-degree increments.

Take a look at the 7-day forecast below.

We offered cool autumn feelings to start the week and then we'll make you sweat like crazy by the end of the week. From Monday's high of 71 degrees to Thursday's forecast high of 98, that's a nearly 30-degree temperature jump.

Wildfire smoke will remain largely east of the Cascades through Wednesday. A touch of an offshore flow, easterly wind, could push some smoke briefly west of the Cascades based on current model data.

As of late Monday, the only Air Quality Alerts are posted for central and Eastern Oregon through Wednesday.
