As per the policy of rotation, Pakistan Cricket Board's current chairman Mohsin Naqvi is set to become the Asian Cricket Council's (ACC's) next president later on in this year.

PCB’s current chairman Mohsin Naqvi is currently set to become the next president of Asian Cricket Council’s next president later on in this year as per the rotation policy. This matter of the president’s post was discussed in a recent meeting of ACC with Naqvi’s presence as he was discussed to become the next head.

“When the ACC meets later this year, it will confirm that Naqvi will be the next president for a two-year term,” a source said.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah is the current ACC president, as he is now on a one year extended time period for a third consecutive time since January.

“When Shah steps down the PCB chief will take over,” the source added.

The ACC has recently given the honour of the hosting rights of the Asia Cup 2025 to India as the tournament is to be held in T20 format. This goes to make that two events are scheduled in 2025- First one is the Champions Trophy in Pakistan during February-March, and the second one is the Asia Cup which will be held before the T20 World Cup 2026.
