Watch as Titan VanCoug, stinky corpse flower, prepares to bloom in Vancouver

Washington State University Vancouver's corpse flower Titan VanCoug is getting set to bloom again.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Washington State University Vancouver's corpse flower Titan VanCoug is getting set to bloom again.

According to the school, the plant is expected to bloom during the final week of July or the first week of August.

Corpse flowers, named because of their distinct rotten scent as they bloom, typically bloom every four to six years.

Currently, Titan VanCoug has four flowers growing in one pot, most recently one of the flowers bloomed in June 2023.

The flower being watched right now last bloomed in 2019.

Titan VanCoug is being livestreamed on the Washington State University Vancouver YouTube page.

Corpse flowers are typically only in bloom for three to five days before they close again.
