Netflix dating show 'Love is Blind' now casting in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- "Love is Blind," the Netflix dating show where singles try to fall in love without seeing each other face-to-face, is now looking for a new cast in Columbus.

Kinetic Content, the show's production company, shared the announcement on social media on Monday, calling on all Columbus "single men and women who are brave, open-minded and ready for a committed relationship." The post includes a QR which links to the show's casting application.

Premiering a seventh season this fall set in Washington, D.C., "Love is Blind" follows 15 men and 15 women from the same city hoping to find love. For 10 days, the singles date in "pods" where they can talk to each other through a speaker but cannot see one another. They are initially paired in a speed-dating format, but later can choose to have longer dates.

Contestants may only meet face-to-face after a marriage proposal has been extended and accepted. Then, the couples go on a resort trip with the other couples before spending four weeks living in an apartment in the host city with their new fiancé. The show wraps as each couple decides either to get married or split off.

Kinetic is asking applicants to outline their work history, detail their previous dating history and describe what they're searching for in a new romantic partner. The application includes questions like "Why do you think you are single?" and "Have you ever been judged in a previous relationship for something superficial?"

Prospective contestants must also provide photos, links to their social media accounts and film a 15-second video explaining why they're ready to "find love in the pods." Applicants are required to consent to a casting interview.

"Love is Blind" kicked off in 2020 with its first season taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, nine of the 30 couples that got engaged on the show got married and are still together, according to Variety. The show allegedly pays contestants about $1,000 per week.
