Jon Jones sends fresh cryptic to Tom Aspinall with ten-word statement after Dana White makes fight prediction
JON JONES has broken his silence on Tom Aspinall’s domination of Curtis Blaydes.
The Wigan warrior blitzed Blaydes in 60 SECONDS in their UFC 304 rematch in Manchester last weekend to retain the interim heavyweight title.
Aspinall, 31, immediately made a beeline for the undisputed king of the heavyweights, politely calling him out in his post-fight interview.
Jones, surprisingly, didn’t immediately comment on the Brit’s demolition job of Blaydes – who he tipped to win the Manny melee.
But he eventually addressed the elephant in the room on X, albeit with a short and sweet statement.
The former pound-for-pound king wrote: “Supply and demand at its finest, I love it.”
Aspinall doubled down on his eagerness to fight Jones, who will defend his title against Stipe Miocic in November, in a unification bout next year in the post-fight press conference.
He said: “I have nothing against Jon Jones as a person, but I think I’m the best heavyweight in the world.
“And if he thinks he’s the best heavyweight, then let’s settle it.
“It’s as simple as that, it’s not rocket science.

“There are two guys claiming to be the best heavyweight in the world. Let’s settle it.”
He added: “I’m the best heavyweight in the world.
“Prove me wrong, Jon. If you think you are, prove me wrong. It’s simple.”
Jones, 37, hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since claiming the heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane last March, submitting the Frenchman in the first round of their Sin City showdown.
He was due to defend his belt against Miocic last November but was forced out of their Madison Square Garden melee after tearing a pectoral muscle.
Jones’ loss proved to be the gain for Aspinall, who knocked out Russian wrecking machine Sergei Pavlovich in 69 seconds to claim the interim heavyweight crown.
Jones has hinted he could hang up his gloves after his rescheduled rumble with Miocic.
But UFC President and CEO Dana White reckons the Aspinall’s latest win could have the Hall of Famer’s competitive juices flowing again.
He said: “I think that the competitive spirit that he has and his desire to prove to the world he’s the best, especially when people are saying Aspinall could be the ever, I think that’s the kind of s**t that fires Jon Jones up.”
