Two-time world champion Adrian Lewis reveals return date for darts comeback after taking break from the sport

ADRIAN LEWIS says he is “refreshed and re-energised” and will return to darts in 2025.

The two-time world champion took a break from the sport on April 2023 after announcing on social media that he was laying down his arrows after 20-plus years and taking “a break from the professional circuit for now”.

His form dipped and his world ranking began to plummet as he dealt with various family issues, notably caring for his ill wife Sarah.

But now Lewis, 39, has revealed he will return to the oche next year after signing for management company Modus Sports, joining the same stable as world champion Luke Humphries and Fallon Sherrock.

However, ‘Jackpot’ won’t be chasing a PDC Tour Card just yet and bidding to appear in the big TV tournaments, beginning his comeback in the online leagues only.

He said: “I’m delighted to be returning to the sport that I love, and to be backed by Modus Sports Management going forward.

“I feel refreshed and re-energised, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me.

“I will not be rushing back to Q-School just yet, but I am not ruling it out in the future.

“Firstly I shall be looking to play the Modus Super Series in 2025 as my pathway back to the Professional circuit.”

Lewis, a Stoke-on-Trent protege of Phil Taylor, won the world title in 2011 and 2012 as well as four World Cup wins with Taylor for England.

“And it is a privilege to have him on board.

“He is a very popular player who has a wealth of experience and still so much to offer.

“So the next chapter of his career promises to be an exciting one.”
