Gloversville man sentenced in 2023 rape case

A Gloversville man was sentenced to seven years in prison for a rape charge from 2023. Lee Horning Jr., 37, pleaded guilty to one charge of rape in the second degree, a class D violent felony, in May and was sentenced on July 12.

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Gloversville man was sentenced to seven years in prison for a rape charge from 2023. Lee Horning Jr., 37, pleaded guilty to one charge of rape in the second degree, a class D violent felony, in May and was sentenced on July 12.

Horning Jr. was arrested in September 2023 and faced three charges. According to police investigators, he reportedly had unwanted sexual conduct with a child under 17 on multiple occasions.

At the time of his arrest, he was charged with:

  • Two counts of rape in the first degree
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child

Police say the crimes happened in August and September in the Town of Edinburg. Horning Jr. pleaded to a September 3, 2023 crime.

Horning Jr. was processed and arraigned at the Milton Town Court where he was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of bond. He was also sentenced to 10 years of post-release supervision.
