My boozy hack makes the best DIY deodorant – add 2 more ingredients to make it ‘fancy,’ all you have to do is spritz

A BEAUTY fan has shared their straightforward alternative to deodorant that doesn’t contain aluminum.

Their DIY recipe is easy to tweak, and just two ingredients are all it takes to take it to the next level.

Redditor SunnyDGardenGirl shared the money-saving tip in a post.

She explained that most aluminum-free deodorants she’s tried didn’t work for her.

High-proof alcohol, however, allowed her to eliminate underarm odor without fuss.

“Like Everclear or 100-proof vodka,” she said.

“Just spritz it on your underarms, and it works surprisingly well.”

She warned others to avoid applying alcohol under their arms if they’ve just freshly shaved.

“It will sting if you just shaved, but that was the only time it did for me,” she said.

She added two ingredients to boost the hydrating abilities of her deodorant to prevent the skin from being stripped of moisture, as well as to get rid of the smell.

“If you want to get fancy, you can add glycerin for some skin protective qualities and essential oils for scent,” she said.

Her go-to recipe, she said, required a very small amount of alcohol.

“I used to use four ounces [of] Everclear, a teaspoon glycerine, and about 20 drops of essential oils,” she said.

“Choose some deodorizing ones for extra oomph or just whatever smells good.”

She also revealed her go-to pre-made natural deodorant when she doesn’t feel like going the DIY route.

Her favorite is the $14 Little Seed Farm deodorant cream, which comes in seven different scents and an unscented option.

The tub deodorant, she explained, worked wonders to prevent odor.

“I absolutely love Little Seed Farm deodorant,” she said.

“It’s the first natural deodorant I found that actually worked, and I didn’t reek!

“I love it so much and will never use anything else so long as they keep making it.”

Although $14 for deodorant was initially tough for her to swallow, she explained that a single tub lasted her ages.

It’s pricey, but I only go through about two jars a year, and it’s SO worth it. You can get free samples on their website or order a pack of samples to try multiple scents before committing.”
