Man wanted in April homicide arrested in North Dakota, NIPD says

A 27-year-old man who was wanted in connection with an April homicide in New Iberia was arrested in North Dakota, the New Iberia Police Department announced.

NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) -- A 27-year-old man who was wanted in connection with an April homicide in New Iberia was arrested in North Dakota, the New Iberia Police Department announced.

New Iberia police said they were notified Thursday that 27-year-old Ja'Quan Johnson was apprehended in North Dakota.

Johnson was wanted on charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery involving a firearm in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 1400 block of East Street on April 12.

Johnson is currently awaiting extradition back to Louisiana.
