They did it! They won on a Tuesday!

For the second-straight night, the Royals’ offense used a late spark to comeback and beat the White Sox 4-3.

It’s Kansas City’s 11th win in 12 games against Chicago.

For the most part, the game was quiet in the first seven innings. In fact, the only offense the Royals had came off the bat of Michael Massey in the top of the third.

Wacha, as he’d done all season, didn’t struggle too much with the White Sox lineup. However, the right-hander served up a go-ahead home run to Andrew Vaughn in the bottom of the fourth to make it 2-1.

That score held until the top of the eighth inning. That, of course, is also when Chicago turned to its bullpen. Thanks to two walks from Maikel Garcia and Freddy Fermin, the stage was set for Bobby Witt Jr. Unlike his dramatic grand slam last night, Witt Jr softly blooped an RBI-single to center to tie the game. Moments later, Vinnie Pasquantino ripped a two-run double to make it 4-2.

Hunter Harvey wasn’t great in relief in the bottom of the eighth — coughing up one run, but Sam Long made sure it didn’t matter in the ninth.

The Royals, 59-49, will go for their third sweep of Chicago this season. Brady Singer will duel with Drew Thorpe. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. CT.
