The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran has responded to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, by asserting that Israel has “set the stage for severe retribution.”
Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, issued a statement declaring that the “criminal and terrorist Zionist regime” has martyred their esteemed guest in their own home, mourning his loss.
Khamenei further stated that Israel’s actions have created “a basis for severe punishment” against itself.
