Fred Sirieix reveals fresh update on wedding to fiancé Fruitcake after First Dates star postponed nuptials
FIRST Dates star Fred Sirieix has issued a fresh update regarding his postponed nuptials to his fiancé Fruitcake.
The pair had originally planned to wed in Jamaica in 2022 before the wedding was called off.
In 2020, the maître d’ spoke about the wedding for the very first time on Good Morning Britain where he admitted they were in “no rush” to tie the knot and as such had made arrangement to wed in 2022.
However, the planned ceremony was later axed with Fred revealing on I’m A Celebrity last year that they had now rescheduled for this year.
In a fresh update, Fred has now confirmed to The Sun Online that a wedding date has officially been locked in and it will be a mere matter of months before the couple stroll down the aisle together.
In an exclusive interview, Fred said: “Me and Fruitcake have finally set a date for the wedding. We’re both really excited about it.”
Keeping coy on any further details, Fred then cheekily added: “Obviously I’m not going to tell you when that is for now.”
The couple’s long-awaited nuptials first came under fire as a result of the Covid lockdown where travel was restricted.
Despite this appearing to scupper any wedding plans, Fred confessed that he and Fruitcake grew closer than ever after he became sex-obsessed during the pandemic.
He previously told The Sun that his and Fruitcake’s sex antics had soared thanks to their engagement and being cooped up together.
He said: “I’ve never enjoyed sex as much as now. I think it’s a confidence thing and meeting another person who feels exactly the same way as me.
“I like myself much more than when I was 20, I’m a better human being than when I was 20. It’s that overall wisdom.”
Fruitcake had previously admitted her surprise that Fred had divulged details about their impending wedding during his stint in the Aussie jungle.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Fruitcake admitted she was “shocked” that Fred divulged the private information to his campmates – especially whilst on screen in front of an average of seven million ITV viewers.
She said about him exposing their wedding date: “I was shocked and there was some people saying when are the invites coming out?
“So like thanks.”
In July 2016, he revealed he had never been married before, adding that the closest thing to marriage had been his 12-year-old relationship with ex Alex.
