Ninety Nine Restaurant in Colonie set to close

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub at 107 Wolf Road in Colonie is set to permanently close its doors. The restaurant will be closing as of Sunday, August 11.

In a statement to NEWS10, Ninety Nine President and Chief Financial Officer Kara Jacobs said that the decision to close a restaurant is due to many factors. In this case, the Colonie location's lease was up.

"We are also deeply grateful for the outstanding work of our operating team," said Jacobs. "We are working with our team members to either relocate them to other stores and/or support them any way we can in their job search, including offering severance."

In June 2023, the Ninety Nine closed its Clifton Park location, which was right next to the to-be-opened Chick-fil-A. That location closed due to "a variety of industry challenges and the macro-economic environment over the last few years," Ninety Nine CEO W. Craig Barber told NEWS10 at the time.

Founded in 1952, the Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub is headquartered in Massachusetts and has around 90 locations. After the Colonie location closes, guests are encouraged to visit the Ninety Nine's other Capital Region restaurants in Rotterdam, Wilton, and Queensbury.

"The Ninety Nine has been and remains a proud part of the casual dining landscape across New England and New York," said Jacobs. "Closing this one location doesn’t change our interest and commitment to this part of the country."
