Vermonter accused of burglary, domestic assault

WOODFORD, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A Vermont woman was arrested and is accused of domestic assault and burglary. Kayla Willette, 33, Bennington, faces several charges.

According to Vermont State Police, on Monday morning, around 7:52, authorities responded to a trespassing complaint on Vermont Route 9 at a home in Woodford. Police say an investigation found Willette recently trespassed the property and violated a conditions of release order.

Additionally, police say Willette assaulted someone in the home and tried to break into the residence. She fled before the troopers' arrival.

Police say later in the afternoon, Willette returned to the home and was found in a car during a traffic stop. While speaking with her, police say they learned she violated a court-ordered conditions of release.

Charges:

  • Burglary
  • Domestic assault
  • Unlawful trespass (two counts)
  • Violation of conditions of release

Willette was taken to the Shaftsbury barracks to be processed. She was taken to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail.
