Maya Rudolph returning to play Harris on 'SNL'

Maya Rudolph is reportedly making her return as Kamala Harris on "Saturday Night Live" as the vice president's White House campaign kicks into full gear.

The "SNL" alum, who famously first portrayed the then-California senator on the longrunning NBC late-night sketch comedy show during the 2020 presidential election, will again be busting out her Harris impression, multiple news outlets reported Wednesday.

NBC and Rudolph's representatives didn't return ITK's request for comment.

Earlier this month, President Biden dropped out of the 2024 race and endorsed Harris as the Democratic Party's nominee in November.

In 2022, Rudolph described coming face-to-face with the real-life political figure at a private dinner with Harris and the VP's husband, Doug Emhoff.

Emhoff, Rudolph said, was "so excited that there were two Kamalas" at the get-together.

The 52-year-old comedian told Jimmy Fallon of her sendup of Harris and other famous faces, "I do it for fun. I'm doing it because you love the person."

Rudolph, an "SNL" cast member from 2000 to 2007, described in a 2020 interview what went into her impressions.

“You want to emulate that person," she said. "I think in the world of comedy, for me, what I like trying to go after is finding the thing that creates a character that’s got some sort of a goofy joy.”
