Future of beloved BBC animal series revealed after an incredible 24 years on screen

BELOVED British documentary series Animal Park is making a return to screens in a matter of days.

The animal show, which began in 2000, showcases daily life at Longleat Safari Park in the United Kingdom.

Animal Park offers an in-depth look behind the scenes at Longleat, including footage showcasing the care of exotic animals, staff conservation efforts, and the bond between animals and their keepers.

Originally presented by Ben Fogle, Kate Humble, and Paul Heiney, the show has seen various hosts over its long run, but Ben and Kate have become enduring faces of the program.

Animal Park has always emphasized the importance of wildlife conservation, and the new season will continue to spotlight ongoing projects both at Longleat and in the wild.

Fans can look forward to seeing new animal arrivals, veterinary procedures, and heartwarming stories of the relationships between the animals and their caretakers.

Ahead of the new season of the wildlife show, Kate shared her fears for her future in television.

Speaking to the Reach PLC, Kate said it’s not up to her whether she continues her career as a presenter or not.

She explained: “The brutal truth is, you have very little influence on whether you slow down your filming or not.

“If TV programmes aren’t being made, everyone’s slowing down.

“I mean, the industry at the moment, something like 85 percent of freelancers, both on and off screen, are out of work.

“When I first started doing Springwatch, four million people would watch it, and now it might be a million – and that’s not a reflection of the programme – that’s a reflection of the way that people watch TV now.”
