Inclusion of the Marquesas Islands on UNESCO's World Heritage list (26 Jul. 2024)

France is delighted by the inclusion of Te Henua Enata - Marquesas Islands on UNESCO's World Heritage list. This decision was announced at the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee, held in New Delhi, India. Through its selection of the Marquesas Islands, the World Heritage Committee recognizes the exceptional universal value of this archipelago, where we find evidence of a civilization intimately linked to its unique geological and marine environment.
